Pink City

This new year I made a resolution of travelling more.

Luckily enough, I got the opportunity within the first two weeks of the year and I set out on a road trip/weekend getaway to the pink city aka Jaipur.

Now Jaipur is not only the capital of Rajasthan but it is a city rich in culture and heritage. People from all over the world come here and get a lifetime experience.

My trip was no less. I visited the city with some family friends and the trip was quite memorable.

From watching sunsets to strolling through forts I made so many memories that I don't plan on forgetting or letting go of anytime soon.

If anyone's looking for a place just outside of Delhi and the weather is not too warm, Jaipur has to be it.

With so many forts, the place is overflowing with history.

Jaipur has the most expensive hotel suites in the country, while initially, you might feel the price isn't justified but once you look at the mesmerising beauty of the place, you'll feel like coming here again and again.

We all know Jaipur as the Pink City. But have you ever wondered how the name "Pink City" captured the frame? To your surprise, the city was painted entirely in pink colour in order to honour and welcome the visit of Edward, the Prince of Wales. It was done in the year 1876 by Maharaja Ram Singh and since then, Jaipur has been called the Pink City of India.

Without taking much of your time, I'd like to sum up by saying that this city should most definitely be on your bucket list.
